This stunning miniature lacquer box was hand painted in Palekh style. It features Ivan holding a firebird's feather while riding the humpbacked pony over the sleeping town. The scene is based on the Russian folk tale of "the Humpbacked Pony" or "Konyok -Gorbunok" in Russian. The box is initialed by an artist.
