This Russian lacquer box painted in a miniature art style of Kholuy village. The box's art scene features a beautiful young lady dressed in winter clothes carrying 2 pales of fresh water from the well back to her house. She is using a special wooden lever bar for balancing out the weight on both ends called koromyslo in Russian, the tool now found only in a few remote locations or museums. The box is initialed by an artist.
